Whate Is Wrong With My Preamp

Storia (non sempre) maestra di vita

Thinking back to the recent controversy on the wiretapping bill that the government wants to scheduling by July 29, I'm thinking the author Francis Fukuyama and his thesis about the end of history. According to the American political scientist, of which many things I do not agree, the engine of historical events is nothing more than democracy. Progress, to use a humanistic term, would result in democracy but not an end in itself, but the exercise of the memory of the people: it can man from the experiences of the peoples of the past to achieve more advanced. Fukuyama, then, in his incurable optimism, believes that history is a line, and that it can only move forward, joining a full and inevitable recognition of liberal ideology as a beacon of humanity.

But if the historical process itself is screwed up because of an error of assessment or for failure to exercise the memory, repeat again the mistakes of the past, so here it becomes cyclical. This will lead us to question if the error does not happen, but certainly when it will manifest. Italy
contemporary living in a dimension so its cyclical historical events, that not even change the actors, in fact. If there is instead something that can change at any event that is analyzed is the final response to the stress of the Italians that history moves on them. And I think this makes a difference.

The beginning of yet another historical cycle all Italian has a very precise date: July 13, 1994. It 's the day when the first Berlusconi government in the person of its Minister of Justice, Alfredo Biondi, has the infamous decree, then called the press "save-thieves." Its contents, in the part that deals with the limitation of custody to facilitate arrest, is well known, especially in particular that one of the first beneficiaries would be that the prime minister's brother Paolo Berlusconi in office. It is, however, shows more interesting for our argument the part about the press, and in some ways reminiscent of the measures now being taken to the interception. Then, as now, to know them freedom has been sacrificed at the altar of personal dignity and value that today takes the privacy of Saxon adjectives, because of globalization itself law. But were the reactions to make a difference. The world of politics, the judiciary, culture and public opinion became a shield against a provision that seemed a deliberate stroke of a pen. The forms of protest took sometimes blatant forms, such as the resignation en bloc of the pool of Milan "Clean Hands" after the announcement of the presentation of the measure by the Government.

Today? While this cycle of our history seems to close the situation is this: complete standstill in the political, judiciary that is silent (or almost) in the spirit of survival, which in some parts of journalism is even favorable to the new measure. But as mentioned, is the massive indifference that is perceived in civil society that really changes the relationship of value. It is not enough to fill a Piazza Navona all for an afternoon to say that something is moving, then if most of the people (as a Latin gens, a collective of individuals) slavishly supports the attitudes of power with indifference, however, perhaps justified by the major problems (economic, for example) in the same way that still do not find answers in the attitudes of the policy. E 'therefore the culture of indifference that is incompatible with the exercise of democracy, which in turn has its source in the memory. What to do then Fukujama?

Personally, I prefer the concept of History of Thucydides, for whom the past is the result of what has already happened, but also the basis of orientation for the future, because we live in what is already a core of understanding for what could be. But this lesson, unfortunately, seems not to be applicable to our country for obvious reasons already justified by the facts presented. What is Italy an exception to history?
